Brian Sargeant B Vet Med MRCVS - Clinical Director

A native of Whitby, Brian has spent most of his professional life in Derbyshire where he owned a veterinary hospital. After “retiring” from there, he was keen to find a new challenge and was delighted to join Marske vets in June 2010 as Clinical Director. Brian joined us as our Clinical Director in August 2011 

He is married with 6 children and 3 grandchildren, and tries to see them as often as possible although they are dotted around the UK.

He has always been interested in sport, more as a spectator now, and is a passionate supporter and season ticket holder at Newcastle United. He is also a member of Yorkshire County Cricket Club. He is a Rotarian and other interests include travel, cookery, photography, and gardening. He likes Labradors and Border Terriers.

Brian's professional interests include Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Practice Management

EMMA  PARKINSON BSc DVM MRCVS           

Emma is  originally from Chesterfield, but is often confused for being Australian or Canadian. She  been with Carrick Veterinary Group since 2003, when she moved back to England from the USA.She is interested in the medical aspects of dogs and cats, with a keen interest in endocrine diseases. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, gardening, or to the staff’s delight, baking.

      

 

MIKE BURKE MRCVS 

Mike is a 2002 graduate from the Royal Veterinary College in London and have has been at Carrick since October 2009.  Before this je worked as a veterinary surgeon in Kent (briefly) and the United States (in NEW England).  Mike and his wife live with their 4 small monsters – two pictured (Brigh is the yawning gargoyle, while Fionn is the blonde lounging gracefully in repose) with the other two absent and suggested to be cats.  They - his wife, the gargoyle, the blonde  – enjoy walking in the Peaks, chasing small things and not catching them.

 

LAWRENCE BROWN MRCVS

Lawrence was born in Edinburgh and grew up on the Southeast Coast of Scotland.  He went to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at Edinburgh University and graduated in July 2010. His first job was in mixed practice in West Cumbria where he worked for 2 years before moving down here to pursue small animal practice. He has a 1 year old Jack Russell Terrier  which he took on after she was thrown over a wall and abandoned as a puppy, she was handed into the vets at his old practice and has been in Lawrences care ever since.  HeI lives with his girlfriend (who is an equine vet) and her 4 year old Gordon Setter.  In his freetime he is  a keen rugby player. 

    

JACKIE PRIESTLEY BVSc MRCVS

Jackie has been working part time at Carrick Vets for 2 years now, having been a quallified veterinary surgen for 19 years. Before she joined Carrick she worked in a variety of small animal veterinary practices. Although she is part timeshe has no spare time on my hands due to mother and farmers wife duties!
